To the delight of the baseball men and women in the BBF's AA North Division, the weather took a long-overdue turn for the better last weekend and the first competitive action since Opening Day took place on Sunday, May 6, with the Sheffield, Hull and Harrogate all sweeping doubleheaders..
On what was a scheduled as a rain date for most teams around the league, the BBF's AA South Division still managed only a handful of games as most diamonds were still unplayable. Of those who were able to play, the Poole and London both moved to the top of the standings with 3-0 records.
The Liverpool Trojans finally got back to the diamond on Sunday, May 6 in the BBF's AAA North Division and carried on their winning ways with a doubleheader sweep in their first-ever meeting with the Cartmel Valley Lions, whilst Menwith Hill edged both games againts Halton.
